Fresno DJ | MUSIC EXPRESS | DJ in Fresno CA | 5549.325.8625 | has spent the last two weekends performing at China Peak. This is unusual for us to be at he same location two weeks in a row. Usually we travel to different venues every week, and it is not even unusual for us to be in different cities every weekend. There are a lot of cities around the Central Valley where we perform often.
China Peak was a beautiful place to have a wedding. The first week we were there we went on top of the mountain for the wedding! This was gorgeous as it overlooked Hunnington Lake. I call this God’s country because everything is so pristine and beautiful.
This was a great place to have a wedding, and the lodge had a great area for the reception as well. The food was really good and the bridal party had a great time dancing with all the other guests all night long. The bride picked out some of her favorite songs to dance to for her wedding night
The bride and groom were from Visalia the first week, and the bride and groom the second week were from Los Angeles and New York. The guests from New York really loved to dance. They made sure we knew that they had traveled across the country for this wedding. Everyone was real friendly, and they loved it at the end of the night when we played the song New York New York. They all made a circle and kicked their legs up in the air.
There were a lot of requests from the guest as well. We kept the place going for hours! The dancing kept going all night long until the end of the night. We finally stopped so the guests at the lodge were able to get some sleep.
The venue you choose, the food, the flowers, your centerpieces, etc. all say something about who you are and your tastes. When it comes to choosing your music this should be a reflection of you and your new spouse as well.
The most important factor when hiring a wedding dj is to look for someone that has experience. Now we are not talking about any type of dj experience; we are talking about specific wedding experience with satisfied brides. This is extremely important! How do you know if they have satisfied bride? Take a look at their website for positive testimonials. Also, you can always ask for some references from past brides and grooms. We have served well over a thousand satisfied brides over the years.
The second most important factor is the ability of the dj to act as a master of ceremonies. This includes much more than just making announcements. The wedding dj also has to be able to keep all the event of the wedding on track, and work with other vendors such as the photographer and the caterer so that everything is right on cue.
The third item in the big three is the ability of the dj to get your guests on the dance floor. This is accomplished by picking out the right music at the right time, and also by encouraging your guests to dance utilizing the microphone. This needs to be done in a classy fashion.
This information will surely help you pick the right wedding dj! Happy wedding planning!
Your wedding dj
Today we went to a bridal fair at Wolf Lakes! Wolf Lakes is a gorgeous venue with a man made lake where you can take boat rides on your wedding day. The grounds are well kept, the building are wonderful, and the food is amazing. This is definitely one of the best venues in the Fresno/Clovis/Sanger area. You should put this on your list of places to explore when you plan your wedding. We are on the approved vendor list for djs; you have to hire someone on the list at this venue.
This is a question that many couples will ask me. My answer is always the same. This depends on how you and your future spouse feels about having one.
The money dance is derived out of a tradition whereby guests at a wedding would give the bride and groom money for their honeymoon. In this manner, couples were able to afford going on a nicer honeymoon than they might have originally planned.
So, the money dance is an opportunity for your guests to send you off on your honeymoon. This is also know coincidentally as the “honeymoon dance”.

Should we have the first dance after the bridal party introductions or after the cutting of the cake? This is one of those questions that brides ask while they are planning their wedding.
While it is entirely proper to do it either way, there are pros and cons to having your first dance after the bridal party introductions. The pros being that your guests are already focused on you after the bridal party introduction, and this is a dramatic time to have your first dance while all your guests are still present. The cons being that this is one of the highlights of the reception, and then you are going to stop all the excitement to sit down and have dinner. Many guests will think that they have already seen you dance so they may leave at the end of dinner.
When you save the first dance until after dinner, this is the time to engage your guests in your reception celebration. The first dance will be followed usually by the father/daughter dance, the mother/dance, and then an all dance number which kicks off the dancing for the evening!
Remember it is your choice and the bride should always have things in the manner she would like them on her wedding day!
When is the most appropriate time to introduce the bride and groom’s parents? In my opinion, the best time to do this is in the middle of dinner long before the toast. This gives your parents the attention they deserve before everyone gets involved in all the other events that will take place during the reception. The announcement of your parents is traditional.
This is a question that brides ask me all the time (so do their mothers)! This is really up to the bride and groom.
However, the current trend is to cut the cake about 10 to 15 minutes after the toast. This works out great because then the cutting of the cake is an extension of dinner, and this is customary with weddings that the bride and groom are the first to eat a piece of cake!
It is also the trend to pick out a song for the cutting of the cake. We have suggestions on our Music Express facebook page.
In the past, a couple of decades ago the cutting of the cake would occur about 30-45 minutes after dinner and the first dance.
It is really your decision how you would like to handle this.
Last night we performed at a beautiful Monterey Wedding! The ceremony was on the golfcourse of the Blackhore Bayonet Golf Course which is on the CSU Monterey Bay campus. The view during the ceremony was breathtaking. The ocean was brilliantly blue with the sun beginning to set as the bridal party, and then the bride walked down the golf course which is populated with Cypress trees and a lush green lawn.
Following the ceremony we all had a gourmet dinner in the clubhouse with the bridal party being announced, the best man and the maid of honor giving a toast, followed by all the customary events.
The rest of the night was spent dancing, and everyone had a great time! The bridal party was especially energetic!
The tradition of the wedding toast is well founded within our culture. It is to acknowledge the newlywed couple, and to share a positive moment honoring them on this grand occasion. It is typical for the best man to give his toast first. The wedding dj will act as the toastmaster and keep everything flowing smoothly.
This is to be taken seriously, and should be prepared for ahead of time. It is fine to have some goodhearted humor, but this is not the time to share embarrassing stories about the bride and groom. In recent time, it has become tradition for the maid of honor to also share a toast.
It is not uncommon for the parents to say something at this point followed by the groom and or bride.
This is not the time to open the microphone to the whole room. The celebration should continue at this point.
Disclaimer: However, it your wedding so you may choose to open it up to whomever you want. (You don’t have to follow tradition!)
